A pleasant cruise through quiet countryside, taking you down the Stockton flight on the first afternoon and recovering with a drink at one of the many pubs in Long Itchington – surely no village really needs so many!
On Saturday, a relaxing cruise through Leamington to Warwick, giving you the opportunity to wander into town, and maybe a meal at the Cape of Good Hope pub, right on the canal, and then on Sunday you can relax on the return journey. Maybe stopping at the bottom of the Stockton flight for a pint in the Blue Lias pub, and leaving that last flight for an early start on Monday morning, back to the marina to hand the boat back.
Turn right out of the Marina, eastwards on the Grand Union Canal. A steady cruise takes you towards Braunston tunnel. And then Sunday, return, realising that everything looks different going the other way.
Again, right from the Marina, turning right at Napton junction on to the winding, contour driven South Oxford Canal. A gentle trip takes you to Fenny Compton, and a winding hole that allows you to turn and wend your way slowly home.
