Kate Boats has been established for over 25 years, with Warwick as its main
base, where it owns the freehold of the yard, and currently operates 13 boats,
with a Saturday turnaround day.
Ten years ago the directors of Kate Boats acquired Blue Lias Marina Ltd, which owns the marina now known as Stockton Top Marina (we changed the name because so many people looking for the marina ended up at the Blue Lias Pub!). Kate Boats now runs 10 hire boats from the marina with Friday and Monday turnaround days (to coordinate with the Ownerships turnaround day).
The marina has a longstanding relationship with Ownerships, generally providing summer moorings for up to 20 boats, and allowing Ownerships to use the facility during the winter to bring in additional boats from remote yards ready for winter maintenance at Braunston. Some of you may even remember fondly Chalky and his pumpout machine in the back of the old red van. We have moved on, and facilities at the marina have been steadily improving.
