Our Warwick base is situated adjacent to a derelict industrial unit, which has just received planning permission to be turned into a small housing development. It will be lovely when it is complete, and should make the area around the base rather nicer that it is currently. However we are not looking forward to the build process, which will probably take the next 18 months. We have therefore decided to move the Warwick boats up to the Stockton base and run the whole fleet from there for at least the next year. They will run on the same days as at the moment, so we will have boats starting from Stockton on Friday, Saturday, Monday and Tuesday, with short breaks and longer holidays available on any of those days.
Stockton is a nice base to start from, particularly for beginners, offering routes with less locks than Warwick. All the same routes are available, and we are still on the Warwickshire Ring. The only real impact is that Stratford upon Avon becomes a bit of a push in a week.
